Never Ever Give Up, There’s Always Hope

Helping families on the “Road to Recovery” is my passion. Many years ago I put my own family through the worst pain imaginable. Not knowing if I was dead or alive or if the next call they received was the news they never wanted to receive, but expected. That is why I am so motivated to help the addict and the family and friends of the addict, and do so in a healthy non-codependent manner. The best advice I can give you is NEVER EVER GIVE UP, THERE’S ALWAYS HOPE. Please don’t let anyone take that away from you no matter how bad the situation may be. Even if the addict does not want help there are things that you can do to help the addict come to their senses much faster than not doing anything at all. The second advice I will give you is to become educated on codependency. Don’t let pride get in your way. When a flight attendant on a commercial airline flight is demonstrating how to use the oxygen mask, they first tell you to place the mask on yourself before helping someone you are traveling with who may not be able to help themselves. The same principle works in recovery. Whether you get help from us or somewhere else, PLEASE GET HELP. That may be the difference in your success in helping someone come out of their dysfunctional behavior, whatever that may be, and begin their road to recovery. NEVER EVER GIVE UP, THERE’S ALWAYS HOPE.
